"Nothing can bring you peace but yourself"- Ralph Waldo Emerson. I have a passion to assist those struggling to find just that: peace.
I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and have been utilizing this model for over a decade. I am currently working towards a certification in Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD Treatment through the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. I am also a professional member of the International OCD Foundation.
I am a member of The TLC Foundation for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors and have completed their Professional Training in order to treat those with trichotillomania, skin picking disorders, and other BFRBs. In addition, I am a member of the American Association of Suicidology, a certified Next Generation Yoga Teacher, and have been trained in hypnotherapy through the Hypnotherapy Institute in San Francisco, CA.
I obtained my Bachelors in Social Work at Kansas State University in 2005 and my Masters in Social Work at Newman University in 2008. In addition to therapy, my background includes foster care, adoption, education, and inpatient hospitalization.
I am passionate about fine arts. Play or art therapy are models that can be used with my clients. Occasionally, yoga and mindfulness techniques are also applied.
